Amidst talks of an offer and move to Saudi Arabia last summer, Ederson is adamant his future remains at the Etihad.

Ederson Moraes is widely regarded as one of the world’s best goalkeepers and has been a key part of Man City’s success, especially in recent years. In the past eight years, the Man City number one took part in winning 18 trophies, including six Premier League titles, the Champions League and two FA Cups.

Ederson signed with Man City from Benfica in 2017 for £35m. With his latest five-year contract nearing its end in the summer of 2026, a lot of questions have arisen around the 31-year old’s future at City (or elsewhere) especially as he had come close to leaving the Etihad Stadium last year. And with heavy linkage to talks of a transfer amidst interest from the Saudi Pro League and also admitting in October that there was a “way above average” “offer on the table,” the public can’t help but speculate as word gets around.

But to that, Ederson says "My future is here."

"Some friends send me a lot of news but 99% is fake news. I understand you guys,” he says, effectively squashing conjectures on his Man City exit.

"My head is here," said Ederson. "It stays with the city. It gives me everything to go back to the Premier League again and try to win the Champions League as well.”

“My mind is staying in the club.”
